Silvia Cerolini, our CEO, took the stage as a panelist at the Milken Institute Future of Health Conference in Washington DC.
The panel discussed the the critical role patients play in clinical development and the urgent need for the healthcare industry to foster true partnerships with them.
There’s still much work to be done, but discussions like these are key steps toward progress.
And it was an honor to share the stage and have this discussion with inspiring patient advocates also working to reshape healthcare into a true partnership with patients.
World retina conference - 2024
Silvia and Cecilia were in Dublin in June for the World Retina Congress 2024, a biannual meeting bringing together patients, researchers, clinicians, and industry leaders working on inherited retinal diseases.
Changed by women - 2024
Our CEO, Silvia Cerolini, shared the inspiring narrative of ‘Writing a Different Ending’ at the #ChangedbyWomen event by Università Bocconi for International Women’s Day.
Changed by Women tells the extraordinary stories of 99 women who have pursued their dreams and changed the future.
The initiative entails a book, fundraiser, women’s mentoring program and roadshow involving the Bocconi alumni community.
The project aims to bet on the future and inspire the next generation of girls and young women
InspiringFifty Italy - 2024
InspiringFifty in its Italian edition has chosen the 50 winners. These are 50 women working in the world of technology in various capacities, including entrepreneurs, managers, investors, university lecturers, all Italian, including some who work abroad.
Silvia, our incredible founder and Vicky’s mum, is one of the winner!

ARVO - 2023
ARVO May 2023 in New Orleans, is the world’s largest global eye research conference. This event brought together leading scientists, clinicians, patient advocates, and industry partners—all united in advancing vision research.
Eyes on the Future was proud to present a poster on our RDH12 Scientific Conference, highlighting the impact of collaboration in driving progress. In addition, two other posters featured research funded by our global RDH12 alliance in the UK and the US, showcasing groundbreaking studies made possible through our community’s efforts.
Beyond the presentations, valuable discussions with researchers, clinicians, and companies, working tirelessly to push RDH12 research closer to a treatment.
Gene Therapy for rare disorders Europe - 2022
Silvia had the chance to speak about Patient Driven Drug Development at the 6th annual Gene Therapy for Rare Disorder Europe with fellow patient advocate Philippa Norman from Rare Beacon and Nick Sireau from AKU Society.
A chance to reflect on the biggest challenges to bring innovative therapies to rare and ultra rare patients and share some of the behind-the-scene patient stories.
Also an opportunity to remind biotech and pharma executives that involving the patients early in the drug development is not only the right thing to do but it increases the chances of success.
We even heard from some attendees that our session was one of the most insightful of the 3 days!
